progressive media concepts, social media marketing, social media managementIf you are a business professional who is not currently using LinkedIn, it’s time to create an account. This social media powerhouse currently has 120 million members worldwide, which includes executives from every 500 Fortune Company.  LinkedIn is a great tool to connect and build relationships with business professionals inside and outside of your industry. Once you begin using LinkedIn as a networking tool, you can expect to see an increase in productivity and success for your company.

In addition to all of the personal connections you can make through LinkedIn, the platform also gives you an opportunity to build relationships for your brand. If you have a social media strategy in place, it would be a wise idea to add a LinkedIn company page to the mix. A company page allows you to accumulate a professional following for your business, and can work wonders for your brand.

A LinkedIn company page lets you fill out a basic overview of your business. Make sure you fill out a description that is full of keywords so that your ranks high on the LinkedIn search results. In the overview, make sure you complete the section that asks for your company’s specialties as well, whether you are a service-based or product-based organization. Additionally, there is a services and careers section that you may fill out on your company profile. Supply as much information as you can for your followers.

On October 6th, 2011, LinkedIn made their company pages even more enticing by adding a new feature. Brands are now able to post status updates and share links, blog, articles, etc, with their followers! So what does this mean for businesses? LinkedIn has now become another place for you to drive traffic to your website and social media platforms. Have a new blog post? Share it with your brand’s fans on LinkedIn. Not only does this give you the opportunity to tap into your professional network, but your updates also have the ability to be shared across your follower’s networks.

As directly quoted from the LinkedIn press release:

“Company Status Updates allow administrators of Company Pages to share professionally relevant updates directly with their Company Page followers, including content such as company news, videos, jobs, industry articles, and more. In an environment where millions of professionals are turning to their networks for help making critical business decisions every day, giving companies a vehicle to communicate and engage with their followers will allow them to strengthen those relationships, build brand advocacy and attract new and repeat customers.”

Progressive Media Concepts is an advocate of LinkedIn. This platform is especially beneficial for those companies who are in the B2B sector.
