Social Media Helps Broadcast the Royal Wedding to Millions

29 Apr

Progressive Media Concepts - Social Media Marketing and Management If you aren’t aware by now that Prince William and Kate Middleton got married earlier today, they did in fact tie the knot. Those lucky
enough to be present at the wedding across the pond in London, had maybe a once in a lifetime opportunity to see a children’s fairy tale play out in reality. For the rest of us, we had ample amounts of press coverage to experience this tale vicariously through the newlyweds. The advances in technology as well as social networking sites have provided the Royal Family with enough platforms to follow the wedding no matter where on the planet you reside.

Like any major event that takes place, media coverage from news
networks around the world broadcast  it live as much as possible to

No. Which is why on any social media site you log on to, there are links and advertisements on where to watch the Royal Wedding live on the Internet. Continue reading…

Social Media Spotlight: Just Jamie Scarves

13 Apr

Progressive Media Concepts - Social Media Marketing and Management Today, Progressive Media Concepts will embark on a new blogging concept – a Social Media Spotlight that focuses on businesses who currently use social media and how their marketing strategies are helping to build their brand. We want to give our readers an inside, real-life view of how companies can grow their business, increase sales, and enhance consumer engagement. It’s very simple to sit here and write about all the benefits social media holds for companies in general, but by giving you an actual example of a business that is prospering through Facebook or Twitter will make our case stronger. Our readers can expect to find these kinds of company spotlights every Wednesday from here on out, and if you would like to be interviewed, please do not hesitate to ask. So let’s start our Social Media Spotlight with an awesome entrepreneur, Jamie Futterman from Just Jamie Scarves.

Just Jamie Scarves was launched in August of 2010 when Jamie saw an opportunity in the marketplace to sell scarves and other accessories. She has been using social media to promote her business since day 1, with her WordPress blog, Facebook and Twitter driving much of her product information to her consumers. Currently, Jamie has an e-commerce website (which she created single-handedly) but still uses social media in her daily business activities. To get a better idea of how social media has benefitted her company, we asked her a few questions.

Foursquare Day: A Social Media Holiday

11 Apr

Progressive Media Concepts - Social Media Marketing and Management By now, we have all seen the power social media has in regards to businesses, advertising, building personal connections, and even how it affects governments worldwide.

But on April 16th, social media has something else in store for us… a global social media holiday. Foursquare Day was started by Nate Bonilla-Warford, who figured it would be a cool concept for everyone to check into Foursquare on the 4th 16th of the year… better known as four squared. His idea spread quickly over Facebook and Twitter, and on April 16th of last year, the first Foursquare Day was celebrated. As we prepare to celebrate this new-era holiday on Saturday, it is important to understand what this day is all about.
